Alum to give talk on tunneling technologies

Mr. Essex is Executive Vice President and Director of Tunnels with Hatch Mott MacDonald. He has 35 years of experience with the planning, design, construction management, and disputes resolution of underground construction projects. An expert in the management of geologic and contractual risk associated with underground construction, he has worked on more than 150 highway, transit, railroad, water, and wastewater tunnel projects across North America and abroad, including Australia, Chile, Guatemala, Indonesia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru and Singapore.

Mr. Essex provides senior level review of Hatch Mott MacDonald’s tunneling projects and leads the Practice’s knowledge management initiative. His focus area is matching the right construction methods to the anticipated subsurface conditions so that projects can be completed on time and on budget.
