Career Counselors, Faculty and Staff Team Up to Ensure Student Success

Throughout the 2012-2013 academic year, the Career and Internship Center has been reaching out to and working with a wide variety of academic departments, faculty and staff. This has included hosting open houses during the summer months, attending department hosted internship events, speaking in classes, meeting with undergraduate councils and advisers, and appointing department liaisons within our industry teams.

Looking forward to 2013-2014, the Career and Internship Center looks to continue this outreach. Students are incredibly connected with their faculty as advisers, mentors and advocates, and it goes far beyond simply asking you to forward along an email to your students. Some of our industry teams will be conducting "field trips" out to departments throughout the summer to discuss connections, we will again be hosting open house luncheons, and in some cases reaching out directly to various departments to check in. What we've learned from this past year's connections is how integral staying connected to academic departments is to our work with students. We appreciate when faculty and staff keep us posted on upcoming department events, internships and job connections, career related projects, and recognize that many of you have strong connections within your academic areas regionally, nationally and internationally.

If you or your department do not currently know your Career and Internship Center Liaison, or if you'd like to reconnect with us, please feel free to email me and I will make sure to have one of our staff follow up about ways to collaborate for our students' success!
