Digital Media Developer
The Digital Media Developer will utilize their creative programming skills that integrate audio, video, motion, with user interface design to create unique visitor experiences that translate into the physical space. He/she will conceive, program and design interactive media experiences for science museum exhibits and special projects. He/she will work closely with a team of scientists and the design team to brainstorm, storyboard, program and/or customize software to prototype interactive experiences for testing and evaluation.

Education

Community Darkroom
Community Darkroom was established in 1977 so that people of all ages who were interested in photography could take modestly priced classes, have access to facilities to create their own images, and meet each other to share their work in a supportive setting. We continue that mission today.
Adult Program Director
We are looking for someone who understands and is interested in what we do here as a not-for-profit arts center. This is not a position where you will be making or teaching art in the traditional sense. This is an administrative position. We need someone who has a passion for facilitating arts education and a belief in its importance in everyone’s lives. Good organizational skills, leadership qualities and problem solving skills are a must. Photography experience is necessary--digital, film/darkroom or both. Knowledge of Photoshop and InDesign, are a plus. For the right person, we are willing to provide the opportunity for on the job training if there are some gaps in knowledge.

The SpeakFirst initiative brings together eighteen exemplary high school students from three low-income Birmingham area schools into an all-star debate team that participates in tournaments in Alabama and across the Southeast.
