Credit cards belonging to eighty million Americans were exposed in the data breach at Target Stores last Christmas.  While the impact on consumers was widely publicized, details regarding the underlying sophistication of the attack have only recently emerged.  The Target Breach has ushered in a new phase in the war against cyber criminals.  This discussion, hosted by Reliant Security, will illustrate how hackers used big data extraction techniques in an automated attack that stole credit card data from thousands of Point-of-Sale terminals.

As a "partner school" in the consortium , 50 students from UR may attend in the afternoon. Current students only -- no alumni. A limited number of travel grants for undergraduate Hajim students will be available, courtesy of the Dean of the Hajim School; watch your email for details.

Career and Internship Center Workshops are quick 1 hour long (30 minutes instruction, 30 minutes Q&A) sessions taught by Greene Center staff. Their goal is to deliver information in a group setting, allowing for more targeted advice during your future one-on-one appointments with a counselor. They're a great starting point, whether you are a freshman just getting started, a senior applying to graduate school, or a graduate student preparing for an interview. Boot camps are intensive, mini-courses designed to motivate you in your job search, lower stress by offering concrete strategies to help you reach your goals, and give you scheduled time each week to work on your future!

After four one-hour intense and selective sessions boot campers will express clearly defined field, function and firm goals; create one or two targeted resumes, networking notes and cover notes. Our teachers will help you identify a hit list of ten places or people to contact, and guide you through your first attempt.
