About the Speakers

Carl Hess

Carl A. Hess has served as Managing Director, The Americas of Towers Watson since February 1, 2014, 
and is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.  Prior to that, he served as the Managing Director of 
Towers Watson's Investment business since January 1, 2010.  Before that, he worked in a variety of roles
over 20 years at Watson Wyatt, lastly as Global Practice Director of Watson Wyatt's investment business.
Mr. Hess is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries and the Conference of Consulting Actuaries, and a 
Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst.  He has a B.A. cum laude in Logic and Language from Yale University,
and is a director of HLC Holdings and its subsidiaries and affiliates.

Caroline Repko

Caroline Repko is a senior analyst for the Health and Group Benefits line of business in 
Towers Watson’s New York office. She has been with Towers Watson in the Health and 
Group Benefits line of business for over five years.  Caroline assists companies in developing 
long-term benefit strategies, conducting benefit comparisons, analyzing group benefits design 
changes, underwriting and establishing plan budgets.  Caroline has experience with merger 
and acquisitions, as well as divestitures.   She has extensive experience in evaluating, selecting 
and negotiating with benefit plan service providers and insurers.  Caroline assists clients in the 
development of appropriate strategies to respond to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care 
Act (PPACA). Caroline holds a B.A. degree in philosophy, politics and economics, and a B.A. 
degree in Hispanic studies from the University of Pennsylvania. She is a Certified Employee 
Benefit Specialist (CEBS) and is a Fellow of the International Society of Certified Employee 
Benefit Specialists (ISCEBS). She is on the board of the New York Metro chapter of the ISCEBS
and on the national ISCEBS Symposium Committee.

Megan Yee

Megan is a consulting actuary with 9 years of retirement experience at Towers Watson. Her experience in 
retirement consulting  include funding and accounting valuations for pension and other postretirement benefit 
plans, plan designs, and pension administration. She spent the first 2 years of her Towers Watson career in 
Boston before transferring to New York. Megan is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and an Enrolled Actuary
under ERISA. She holds a B.A. degree in mathematics from Columbia University and an M.A. degree in 
mathematics from the University of Pennsylvania.
